Message from the Dean

The Arnold School of Public Health has become engaged in a strategic research planning process to ensure that decisions regarding research and faculty investments in the coming months are aligned with the School's long-term vision and mission. This strategic planning process is a critical step for the School in meeting the charge that I was given as Dean to build and elevate our stature as a School of Public Health.

Since state assistance likely will continue at historic lows for the foreseeable future, it is more important now than ever to make the most of our present abilities to secure non-state sources of funds and to strategically build those areas where we, as a community of scholars, see the best opportunities for success, sustainability and recognition.

These are challenging times, but I see this process as an opportunity to set a successful course for the decades to come. We will work together to determine the best way for the School to move forward as we keep the community informed of our progress. Please send us your comments at any point along the way.
