The Center offers voice training for laryngectomees following surgical removal of the larynx usually due to cancer. Loss of voice following this operation requires not only specialized voice rehabilitation but also counseling for physical and emotional problems experienced by the patient. Treatment options and demonstration of these postoperative voice training techniques are reviewed to determine the best approach for the patient in regaining functional speech. Support group participation is also available.
