Boilerplate Information
The Arnold School Office of Research maintains boilerplate information that can be cut and pasted into grant applications, and we update this information periodically. Be sure to edit the text to fit your application needs, and contact us at SPHResearch@gwm.sc.edu if you think something should be added or changed.

USC Business Information for Application Forms
The chart on this site provides DUNS, EIN, and other business information as well as authorized signatory names and addresses. Always use the USC Research Foundation (USCRF) information except on applications to other South Carolina state agencies.

Budget Template (MS Excel doc)
This Excel spreadsheet, developed by the Arnold School Office of Research, will help you generate a standard detailed budget that may be uploaded into USCeRA for the application routing process.

SAM External Forms Page
This page contains links to most federal and some major foundation grant-related forms.

SAM USC Forms Page
This page contains links to internal research and grant-related forms.

USC Office of Research Compliance
The ORC site includes the USC Investigator's Handbook as well information on USC's Institutional Review Board (IRB) application and exemption processes and animal welfare. USC IRB applications and exemption requests are processed electronically through USCeRA.

USC Development Office Foundation Relations
USC's Foundation Relations office can assist you with information concerning foundations and USC's relationship with them. If you plan to submit an application for foundation or corporate funding that is not in response to an RFA or RFP, you should contact USC's Foundation Relations office to ensure that there is no conflict with other USC efforts.

USCeRA
USC's Electronic Research Administration (pronounced "you-sarah") is the web-based internal routing system for all external grant applications and contracts and internal IRB applications and exemption requests as well as some internal grant applications. Through USCeRA, uploaded documents are electronically routed and signed by Chairs, Directors, the Dean's Office, internal partners, and USC's Sponsored Awards Management (SAM) office prior to submission to the funding organization. Please note that applications are not submitted to the funder through USCeRA. Whether electronic or in paper form, applications are submitted to funders through a separate process.

Faculty, staff, and students may obtain a USCeRA username and password and can access E-Learning USCeRA training at this site.

Grants.gov
Grants.gov is the portal for information on federal funding opportunities and electronic grant application submissions. Nearly all federal applications must be submitted through Grants.gov. Since USC is registered with Grants.gov, USC PIs do not need to register as an individual to log in and use the system.

National Institutes of Health eRA Commons
NIH requires that a PI have an eRA Commons Username to apply for an NIH grant and to conduct business with NIH. Contact Stephanie Harrison harrisst@mailbox.sc.edu 777-5241for an NIH eRA Commons Username.

National Science Foundation FastLane
FastLane is the online website through which NSF communicates with researchers, reviewers, and research administrators. Contact Stephanie Harrison harrisst@mailbox.sc.edu 777-5241 for FastLane access.
