South Carolina Vulnerable Adult Guardian ad Litem Volunteer Program (SCVAGAL)
SCVAGAL volunteers will receive training by the Office for the Study of Aging. After completing the training, the volunteers will be responsible for gathering information, interviewing the vulnerable adult and other involved parties and making recommendations to the court as to what is in the best interest of the vulnerable adult. The volunteers will be court appointed and will appear in court on behalf of the vulnerable adult. SCVAGAL Volunteer Training will be held Friday, June 8, 2012 at the 730 Devine Street Conference Room from 10:00am to 4:00pm with lunch provided. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer and would like to attend this SCVAGAL Volunteer Training, please complete the Volunteer Application and SCVAGAL Registration Form and fax or mail the completed forms no later than May 25th. Registration will be confirmed by May 30th. This training is intended for social workers and other professionals who have worked with older adults or other vulnerable populations or children GALs.
