Vinci is a University Ambassador and currently serves as the Service
Coordinator of the University’s Newman Club. A native of New Orleans,
she is also a recipient of the St. Thomas More Spirit of Service
Scholarship. Vinci is looking forward to studying Swahili on a Cultural
Scholarship in Zanzibar, Tanzania at the Taasisi Ya Kiswahili Na Lugha
Za Kigeni. She is grateful that this opportunity will support her goal
of helping others: "Through my studies in Zanzibar, I hope to enrich my
cultural knowledge and Swahili language skills. By experiencing the
daily life in an African country, I hope to return after receiving my
Public Health degree to help with the AIDS crisis and other diseases
that threaten Africa." Vinci is sponsored by the Columbia Capital Rotary
Club.
Rotary is the world's largest privately funded international
scholarships program, and these scholarships further international
understanding and friendly relations among people of different countries
and geographical areas by encouraging person to person diplomacy.
