Organizations Committed to Reducing or Eliminating Health Disparities
Health disparities are among the most complex and
intractable public health problems threatening the United States,
impacting communities and individuals in a variety of ways. In an
attempt to reduce and eliminate health disparities in communities
throughout South Carolina and the nation, there are a variety of
institutions and organizations committed to developing public health
workers, as well as programs and services focused on improving and
protecting the health of communities.
Below is a partial list of state and national organizations with
programs and services, focused on reducing or eliminating health
disparities. We encourage you to view their web pages to learn more
about what they offer and to explore opportunities to partner. Many of
these organizations currently partner with the Institute for
