This website is an interactive site for kids, parents, and teachers. It has numerous links to other websites that have information regarding physical fitness. It includes links about stretching, the importance of physical activity, and interactive sites where kids and parents can learn about all areas relating to physical fitness.

The President's Council on Physical Fitness
This site is sponsored by the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. Discover how you and your family can earn the Presidential Sport Award. Learn 10 easy tips to healthy eating and physical activity. The site targets children in two different age groups, 2-6 years of age and 6-17 years of age. There are ideas and activities to download for both age groups.

WIN Weight-control Information Network
A very helpful site that answers many questions on the minds of parents today, such as, “How eating healthy and being physically active will benefit my child?” “How are my child’s eating and activity habits formed?” The site will also give you ideas on how you can help your child be more active and how to help your overweight child.

American Academy of Pediatrics - Promoting Physical Activity
This website contains different ways of promoting physical activity among children. The site discusses the roles physicians, schools and the community have on promoting physical activity.

American Heart Association - Exercise and Children
The American Heart Association recommends that children and adolescents participate in at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity every day. The site explains why and how to promote physical activity for your child.

Centers for Disease Control & Prevention - BAM Body and Mind
BAM stands for body and mind and is designed for children to use. The site includes interactive games and quizzes to teach and get children involved in becoming physically active. Explanations of different sports, such as how to play, are given by children. This site also includes link for kids who have asthma or other challenges that many impair from being physically active. The nutrition part of the Fit for Life portion includes several recipes for cool treats to eat.
