Linux Computer Cluster
To support the bioinformatics needs of its clients,
EnGenCore offers customized data analysis using a
Linux-based computer cluster consisting of sixty-four 2.2
GHz processors. Comprehensive base calling, sequence
editing, contig assembly, genome assembly, gene mapping, and
whole genome mapping is offered through the Phred, Phrap,
Consed, Newbler, and FlowMapper software. Local copies of
the NCBI and KEGG databases are routinely updated allowing
fast BLAST homology searches for both large and small scale
DNA sequencing projects using Paracel BLAST software.

Leica TCS SP5 Confocal Microscope
EnGenCore offers state-of-the-art imaging using the
Leica
TCS SP5 confocal microscope. The TCS SP5 tandem scanner
combines two technological solutions in one system: a
conventional scanning system - ideal for morphological
imaging and three dimensional structure analyses, and a
resonant scanning system - the best solution for high speed
confocal imaging. For demanding multiparameter fluorescence
imaging, this microscope is equipped with high efficiency
SP-detection (five channels simultaneously). The TCS SP5
also provides fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM)
capability.

Bruker Senterra Dispersive Raman Microscope
The
Senterra is a full-featured confocal system that can
accommodate multiple excitation wavelengths with the highest
possible spatial resolution. This system is based on the
Olympus BX51 optical microscope and contains all the
necessary tools for sample visualization and
characterization. The incorporated RamanScopeIII provides
fluorescence-free, non-destructive Fourier transform Raman
excitation to the same microscopic spot as the Senterra.
This combination provides full spectroscopic
characterization and optimizes the strengths of the both
techniques for your complex micro-analysis samples.
