Arnold School of Public Health Student Association
The Executive Council of the
Arnold School of Public Health Student Association plays a major role in the School administration.
The Executive Committee is also known as the Dean's Student Advisory Council (DSAC). The purpose of the Student Association shall be to:
- Foster an academic,
professional, personal, and social environment for the students within the
Arnold School
- Facilitate an interactive relationship and the exchange of information between faculty, staff, alumni, and students of the
Arnold School
- Provide networking and volunteer opportunities for Arnold
School students with various public health institutions, professionals, agencies, and community service organizations
- Serve as an aid in advocating and/or communicating the needs and concerns of
Arnold School students to the Arnold School administration via the Executive Council; also known as the Dean’s Student Advisory Council (DSAC)
- Promote beneficial relationships and/or communication with various organizations established within the
Arnold School
- Support and encourage the recruitment and retention of a diverse student and faculty population for the
Arnold School
- Encourage the representation of the Arnold School at local, state, national, and international conferences, meetings, and organizational fairs
- Represent the Arnold School within the University of South Carolina Student Government and Graduate Student Government Associations
- Promote the mission and the goals of the Arnold School of Public Health
All Arnold School departments have student representation and representatives include students at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels. Students were either appointed or elected by their respective departments to serve on this committee. Any suggestions/concerns about the Arnold School of Public Health or your department should be relayed through your student representative.
