Graduate Assistants - Students who are awarded a graduate assistantship are charged the in-state tuition rate and may also be awarded a tuition supplement from the department. *The Certified Teacher rate applies to non-resident students who teach in the SC public schools.

Health Insurance
Enrollment in the University sponsored health insurance plan is mandatory for graduate assistants, international students, and full-time students (9 or more hours) unless they present evidence of satisfactory alternative health coverage. Part-time students (less than 9 hours) are also eligible to purchase the University sponsored health insurance plan, but enrollment is not required. Other Fees
Students may elect to pay an optional Student Activities Fee each semester, which allows them to obtain free student tickets to sporting events as well as utilize the recreational and fitness facilities at the Strom Thurmond Wellness & Fitness Center and the Blatt Physical Education Center.
