SPH EVALUATION
COMMITTEE
Purpose
The Arnold School of Public Health’s Evaluation
Committee has primary responsibility for the development
of data collection instruments for the school. Areas
of primary responsibility include:
- student
course evaluation;
- practicum/project/residency
evaluation;
- alumni
surveys; and
- exit
questionnaires.
The committee has advisory responsibility for all
aspects of evaluation programs of the school. The
committee reviews, on a continuing basis, results
concerning evaluation processes and outcomes and
recommends changes in evaluation programs, as needed.
Committee Members
The committee is composed of seven members, one
representative from each department in the Arnold
School of Public Health and a student member. Faculty
members typically serve up to three academic years;
the student member typically serves for one academic
year. The associate dean for academic affairs
serves as an ex-officio member of the committee.
Committee Chair and Chair Responsibilities
The chair of the committee is appointed by the Office
of Academic Affairs and typically serves in that
capacity for 1-2 years. The chair’s responsibilities
include:
- establishing
regular monthly meetings dates/times and notifying
the Office of Academic Affairs and all SPH faculty
of those dates/times;
- assuring
that complete minutes are taken at each meeting
and are included in the committee folder for the
current academic year;
- notifying
the Office of Academic Affairs of pertinent outcomes
of all committee meetings;
- consulting
with appropriate faculty and departments concerning
issues surrounding evaluation programs; and
- submitting
a list of actions taken during the current academic
year at the end of each spring semester.
