2007
April (Week 1) 2007 Outside Professional Activities Report notification sent to faculty.
April (Week 2) 2007 Office of Academic Affairs notifies eligible faculty member(s) in writing of third-year review due next academic year

Dean notifies all eligible faculty in writing of option for tenure and/or promotion review in fall semester, including mid-year cases
April (Week 3) 2007 Faculty notifies Dean in writing indicating whether or not they will request tenure and/or promotion, including mid-year cases.
April/May 2007 Tenure and/or Promotion: Compile names of potential outside reviewers for each probable candidate. Contact outside reviewer to obtain agreement to review tenure and/or promotion files.
May 1, 2007 (Monday) Dean’s Office notifies all eligible faculty in writing that post-tenure review will take place during the following academic year.
May 16, 2007 Completed Outside Professional Activities Report due in Office of Academic Affairs.
June 1, 2007 Post-Tenure Review: deadline for eligible faculty to notify Dean’s Office in writing of intent to go forward with post-tenure review or retire in three (3) years.
June (Week 2) 2007 Tenure and/or Promotion: candidates provide Office of Academic Affairs eight (8) copies of vitae and relevant materials to be sent to outside reviewers.
June (Week 3) 2007 Send relevant portions of tenure and/or promotion files to outside reviewers.

Notify all faculty in writing of the date of fall SPH Tenure & Promotion Committee meeting.
June 30, 2007 Outside Professional Activities Report due to ORC.
June/July 2007 Tenure and/or promotion candidates prepare files.
August – Week 1  
July 15, 2007 Dean sends to the Provost a list of all faculty members who will be considered for post-tenure review in the next academic year.
August, 2007 Third-Year Review: select and notify faculty designated to present candidates’ files

Post-Tenure Review: select and notify review panel chairs and members.

Tenure and/or Promotion: select and notify faculty members who will present candidates’ files at fall TPC meeting.
Tenure and/or promotion: select and notify faculty designated to conduct a review of teaching for candidates’ T&P files.

September 4, 2007 Prepare Arnold School of Public Health committee assignments.
Labor Day – No Classes  
September 5, 2007 Tenure and/or promotion files should be complete, including letters from outside reviewers, and ready for T&P Committee review.
September 5, 2007 Third-year review files completed and delivered to the Office of Academic Affairs.
September 7, 2007 Dean sends to Provost a list of all faculty members who will be considered by the school and action sought in each case: T, P or T & P including mid-year cases and faculty who will be undergoing their third-year review.

Send thank you letters to all external reviewers for tenure and promotion.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 11 – MID YEAR HIRE ASPH TPC MEETING (review of mid-year hire candidates for tenure and/or promotion)
September 14, 2007 Faculty notified of fall peer-review assignments

SPH Tenure & Promotion Committee to vote by this date for mid-year tenure and/or promotion cases; files with ballots and vote justifications to Dean; mid-year case candidates and faculty notified regarding candidates recommended.

September 18, 2007 Faculty appealing unfavorable mid-year tenure and/or promotion decisions notify SPH Tenure & Promotion Committee chair, in writing.
September 20, 2007 Mid-year tenure and/or promotion files delivered to Dean.
 
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2007 ASPH TENURE & PROMOTION COMMITTEE MEETING (review of candidates for tenure and/or promotion and third-year review) HESC
September 25, 2007 Health Sciences Mid-year tenure and/or promotion files to Vice President for Research and Health Sciences.
September 28, 2007 Health Sciences Mid-year tenure and/or promotion files to the Provost.
October 1, 2007 Tenure and/or promotion ballots due in Office of Academic Affairs.
October 1, 2007 Tenure and/or promotion candidates notified regarding decision.
October 5, 2007 Deadline for faculty appealing negative tenure and/or promotion decision to notify school’ T&P chair, in writing.
October 10, 2007 Tenure and/or promotion and third-year review files to Dean.
November 1, 2007 Post-tenure review files should be completed and forwarded to the Office of Academic Affairs.
November 12, 2007 All tenure and /or promotion files to VP for Research (supporting materials sent directly to Faculty Senate Office).
Friday, November 16, 2007 SPH TENURE & PROMOTION COMMITTEE MEETING (review of candidates for post-tenure review) HESC 105 8:30 - until
December 3, 2007 Peer-Review of Classroom Performance: due date for completed fall reviews to be received in the Office of Academic Affairs.
December 15, 2007 Annual Review notification to faculty.


2008

January 15, 2008 Notify faculty of spring peer-review of classroom performance assignments.
  No Classes – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
January 15, 2008 The PTR Committee’s report is forwarded to the faculty member, Department Chair, and Dean. The PTR Committee must include recommendations in its report that will assist in restoring the faculty member’s performance to a “satisfactory” level in any area found unsatisfactory.
February 1, 2008 Annual review files due to department chairs.
February 3, 2008 Annual review files available for T&P committee review
February 8, 2008 Post-Tenure Review: In the event that the faculty member’s overall performance evaluation is determined by the Post-Tenure Review Committee to be ‘unsatisfactory,” a Development Committee will prepare a development plan and a timetable for improvement following unit guidelines. The development plan must be prepared in consultation with and receive the concurrence of the faculty member.

April 2, 2008 Completed development plan for those post-tenure review participants judged unsatisfactory & timetable approved by the committee and forwarded to the Dean.
April (Week 1) 2008 Outside Professional Activities Report notification sent to faculty
April (Week 2) 2008 Dean notifies all eligible faculty in writing of option for tenure and/or promotion in fall 2008 semester.
April (Week 3) 2008 Faculty notifies Dean in writing indicating whether or not they will request tenure and/or promotion the next academic year.
April (Week 4) 2008 Dean’s Office notifies all eligible faculty in writing that post-tenure review will take place during the following academic year.
April 30, 2008 Peer-Review of Classroom Performance: due date for completed spring reviews to be received in the Office of Academic Affairs
April/May 2008 Tenure and/or promotion candidates, in collaboration with his/her chair, compile a list of potential referees.
May 8, 2008 SPH Hooding Ceremony
May 15, 2008 Completed Outside Professional Activities Report due in Office of Academic Affairs.
June 30, 2008 Outside Professional Activities Report due to ORC.
