Nominations are now being accepted for these two alumni awards which will be presented during the Hooding Ceremony on May 3, 2012.
Who Can Nominate?
Nominations can be made by faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of the Arnold School of Public Health.
What Are the Award Criteria?
The Gerry Sue Arnold Alumni Award is open to all alumni who graduated in 2002 or later. Alumni whose work has both made a difference to the profession and in the health of an identified community or population are eligible for this award.
The Norman J. Arnold Alumni Medal is open to all alumni who graduated in 2001 or earlier. Eligible alumni should demonstrate work that has had both a positive impact on the profession and on the health of an identified community or population and has brought recognition to the Arnold School of Public Health.

Nominee Selection
Nominees will be contacted by the Selection Committee and asked to submit a current CV or resume and a letter accepting the nomination. Award winners will be selected in March.
Nominations will close at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2012. Late submissions will not be considered.

Norman and Advocates for Health
Norman and Gerry Sue Arnold are both energetic advocates for a healthier South Carolina.
On November 21, 2000, the School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina was named for Norman J. Arnold. Thanks to their generous endowment the Arnold School is better able to serve its students and the citizens of the state in promoting good health for people everywhere.
For more than two decades, the Arnolds have donated their time and significant resources to public and volunteer agencies.They generously continue to support the Arnold School by recognizing the school's outstanding alumni through the establishment of these two awards.
