The Spatial Epidemiology Group

Some members of this group are

Andrew Lawson (Professor)

Monir Hossain (postdoctoral fellow)

Hae-Ryoung Song (postdoctoral fellow)

Ji-in Kim (postdoctoral fellow)

Research Interests

My research interests mainly focus on the development of statistical methods in spatial and environmental epidemiology. I also have interests in disease surveillance, health data mining and space -time problems, directional statistics and environmetrics. I have also worked in geoscience applications and in some areas relating to stochastic geometry. My main technical interests lie in Bayesian methodology for spatial problems and in the development of real time simulation-based methods for optimal surveillance.

I am a WHO advisor in Disease Mapping and Risk Assessment,  and have a wide range of publications in this area, including 5 books.
