Contractor : The new repeaters have improved handheld and mobile
coverage up to sixty miles from their location. Now that more repeaters
are online, we have begun to test the system using the *0 reflector
feature. This will give SCHEART the ability to demonstrate the full
system capacity.

link to Charleston 146.760, use *4). Use *0 to link to the
Reflector. Use 73 to drop the link or the link will drop after
10 minutes of inactivity.The SCHEART linked repeater system
is for the use and benefit of all FCC Licensed Amateur Radio
Operators.
In the event of an emergency, operation of the linked
repeater system will be under the control of ARES - SC - SEC
Charlie Miller, AE4UX, and designee. At all other times,
the system will be open to normal Amateur Radio operation.
Please coordinate net schedules (ARES, Skywarn, local, etc.)
or onetime public service event projects (parades, races, etc.)
through SC SEC Charlie Miller. All the cooperating groups
in the SCHEART project are interested in how and how often the
linked repeater system is being used for public service
The total value of Federal Grants and equipment donated by
Federal GSA Surplus for the SCHEART Linked Repeater System is
over $400,000.00 |
