SCHEART Facility Assessments
Has your healthcare facility been accessed?
Communications equipment assessments are necessary for hospitals to participate in the SCHEART (South Carolina Healthcare Emergency Amateur Radio Team) initiative. Equipment assessments determine the exact specifications a hospital requires, and they facilitate interface capabilities. USC-CPHP coordinates assessment scheduling and oversees the installation of ham radio equipment for the 64 facilities statewide that participate in SCHEART. USC-CPHP collaborates with SCDHEC on equipment recommendations and approvals. Most hospital assessments are completed already.
- If any hospital has not purchased radios but needs them, please contact Bill Dease, USC-CPHP IT and Ham Radio Initiative Coordinator, at (803) 978-7570 or e-mail dease@sc.edu.
- If any facility needs employees trained as ham radio operators, please contact Bill Dease at (803) 978-7570 or e-mail dease@sc.edu.
