Graduate Student Epi (Epidemiology) Investigation Teams
What is EpiTeams?
EpiTeams is a partnership between the USC Arnold School of Public Health and the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) that aims to:
- Provide students with volunteer opportunities in field epidemiology
- Increase epidemiology surge capacity for local and state public health in South Carolina
- Provide opportunities for students to integrate into the emergency response system
Who can participate?
EpiTeams is open to all Epidemiology and Biostatistics Students. Students from other departments with an interest in public health emergency response are also invited to join.
How much of a commitment is EpiTeams?
Students will be able to select their level of participation based on their interest and the commitment they can make.
All students will be required to attend training on H1N1 Response. This training is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, October 24th, 2009 from 10 am-2 pm. Click HERE.
Students who attend this training will be able to join the DHEC Region 3 Medical Reserve Corp (MRC) Unit. Information about the national Medical Reserve Corps Program can be found HERE.
More details will be posted in the coming weeks! Contact Joselyn Burdine with any questions or feedback.
